The Executive

Our Society was formed in 1996 and meets monthly at the Blewbury Village Hall. Tastings are tutored by Ian Hewson, of Wine-Man, an Independent Wine Merchant based in West Berkshire. Ian's friendly yet informative presentation style allows those attending to both enjoy a relaxed evening and learn a little about the wines they are tasting. An eclectic range of seven or eight wines are tasted, normally covering a particular theme each month.

One of the major benefits of attending our events is to give you the opportunity to taste wines which you may never normally think of buying due to their price or their unavailability in the normal retail environment. Over the years we have had the chance to taste wines dating back to the 1950's and 1960's and even the unforgettable Chateau d'Yquem!

If you wish to attend tastings regularly, then a membership subscription for the year will allow you to attend at the most favourable rate. However, you do not need to become a member, but may attend as a guest - all that we ask is that you book in advance by the Tuesday before the meeting, so that we are able to prepare the correct amount of wine for each event.
